The Moorings Retirement Home

We provide private residential care for elderly persons, including those with dementia, and persons with mental health issues that do not require nursing care.

The Moorings aims to provide physical, emotional, and spiritual care to suit individual needs and enable the Service User to pursue a healthy, satisfying, and comfortable lifestyle within their abilities.

We pride ourselves in offering a friendly and warm home atmosphere and providing co-operative care, consulting Service Users and, where appropriate, their relatives, friends, and representatives at all times and as fully as possible.

Choosing to place yourself or a loved one in a care setting can be one of the hardest decisions you will ever face. We want to provide you with as much information as you need to help you make the right decision. Why not start by learning more about our admissions process.

Our Service Users have exclusive use of a private allocated bedroom, all of which have en-suite facilities. The home currently has 39 bedrooms, all of which have a lift and disabled access and come fully furnished. Contact us for current room availability.

We are lucky enough to have use of a dedicated therapy room and employ a trained reflexologist. These sessions are booked with the approval of the Service User registered GP and are freely available to all of our residents. Our daily activity planner also incorporates a variety of sensory-based activities that are beneficial to Users with advanced dementia of those with related conditions such as sun-downing.

We take pride in our home and in offering a service that ensures security, support, and, most importantly, quality care. The Moorings have been under the same ownership since 1990 so we have a lot of experience behind us. Why not meet the team..
